I have an older Apple TV, and the tiny unreliable remote that came with it is constantly getting lost in the couch or buttons stop functioning. I got this app, and was great!! Used firestick for a good while, but then since Im using the Apple TV with this app now it asks me EVERYTIME my phone goes into lock/sleep mode. This has got to be the most aggravating thing ever. Please fix it so one of your customers dont ending up giving up in your products.

I looked for this app years ago because I HATE changing iTunes on my computer. I had no clue this app existed! I am in complete and utter LOVE ?. Thanks apple for creating such a nifty app.

This app is very good but apple should add more features like an option to view song lyrics and control from the lock screen/control center.

I use this app multiple times a day. I wish it was better aligned with the current iTunes features, especially Apple Music. I like to run music from my iMac to airplay connected speakers throughout the house, but I have to set it all up from my computer and then rely on the remote app just to advance tracks, etc. it could be so so so much more.

Precisely what I was looking for. I can now turn the volume up or down or even pause my podcasts from the bathroom, kitchen, etc.

Doesnt work using Personal Hotspot

Apple TV did not state that it cannot cast on Google chromecast. I wasted $6 on a movie on my date to not be able to cast but only be able to play on my phone. Never again. I guess Ill move my ecosystem more towards google

Always loved iTunes remote. Makes accessing and controlling your iTunes library easier. BUT! There is a need for an update. One where the user may control the music while the phone is locked. Consider this. Thanks.

iOS 6 design? Come on Apple. Remote used to be a great app. But now.... And Apple Music. Where is it?

Used to work without problems. Now it wont read one of our  tvs and the remote is lost which is why I used to love this app but dont recommend it anymore.

This updated version still cannot do basic features such as the ability to turn on or off subtitles or work well with Apple Music. You have to press play twice to get a video to play from iTunes. It needs 3D Touch support. It crashes on every first play in iTunes after launch. It also often loses the bottom navigation bar requiring a force quit and reconnect. This is using the latest version of the app with the latest version of MacOS. Does any of this happen to anyone else? Also, it does not recognise the new Apple Music/iTunes heart system in iTunes. I can only rate songs via stars and not heart a song, which is necessary for Apple Music recommendations. You also can only generate Genius playlists and cant start Stations. It needs better integration with Apple Music/iTunes. Its as though Apple is trying to make the worst user experience intentionally. Further evidenced by making a separate Apple TV app. This ESSENTIAL iTunes app feels like an afterthought. This is terrible for people using iTunes to power their stereos, using iTunes for movie/TV watching or more. Please, Apple, put more effort into this!

I dont understand these negative reviews?! It works fine on my iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch. I have been using for a long time. I can control my Macs running iTunes, select what I want to hear, select where to play it: on Mac speakers, external DAC, my Yamaha home theater, airport express, and control the sound level on my old stereo with no remote control. I can control my older Apple TV also. I can select how to view songs albums, play list, etc. It would be nice if it is updated, especially to be able support two app split screen on the iPad so I could keep the remote on the side. Also, sometimes the album art does not update when I have a large number of albums. I heard it also does not support the new AppleTV, shame Apple.

Cant even explain further more on why I say that it is.

When connected to an iTunes library, the new version does not allow you to move the slider to fast forward or rewind. The app crashes please fix I love this App and it is one of the main reasons I own Apple devices. I enjoy being able to control my iTunes Library anytime anywhere in the house and I have my PC with music running almost constantly. Since I also have an Apple TV connected to my stereo system, I can add that speaker on iTunes and I can have music playing throughout the entire house at the same time. And one thing that I need to be able to do is control the music, be able to lower the volume anytime I need to, and also be able to fast-forward and rewind the current song.

What pisses me off about this the most is that it used to work perfectly fine before the iTunes 12 updates. I cannot understand how Apple can go literally YEARS without fixing issues with pairing the Remote App. This is an app that the company has classified as an "Essential" for all users, yet its impossible to pair through home sharing. Save yourself the frustration and dont waste your time.

Why can I adjust the volume but cant change songs?

Quite simply put. Home sharing doesnt work. Has to configure the library each time.

I dont know why the stars are so low. It does exactly what I need it to do. It was also a breeze to set up... I love this app when I cant find my tiny apple remote!
