For the longest time I used this app to playback original material created in Logic and bounced to iTunes to playback for musicians and friends to critique and make suggestions for further recording sessions. I could have have multiple versions of a tune to switch back and forth for comparison. Now I have to sit behind a computer to do this.. Really inconvenient compared to older versions that worked. I know you really want everybody to sign up for Apple Music but this a poor way get people to do so.

This app is great! I think I like the alternative method in iOS 11 in the control center. It has a full remote look which makes it easier to use. I love the fact that this app opens very quickly on my iPhone 6. Practically instant to launch and pair. Great app.

Latest version has a defect that when you open it and select the latest gen AppleTV, you get a Search screen with a heading of VideoSubscriberAccountViewService and a button to Hide it. You have to hit Hide to close this screen and get back to the normal UI of the remote. Then a second defect is that if you hit the button for the Keyboard interface, it brings up this same stupid screen and then if you hit Hide one more time, the remote arrow in the middle of the UI disappear and dont come back unless you close the app fully and open it back up, at which point this entire defect cycle starts again. Clearly the same geniuses that coded the AppleTV remote app and all its defect glory are the same team that have been working on this app as well and ruined it too. Yay Apple... NOT. ? Just FYI, all devices in use during this testing had current iOS and tvOS versions on them, so its clearly an app defect which seems to be the current trend in code seen from Apple over the past 3-4 years. Your coding teams are seriously failing hard and missing A LOT of defects. Must be those RIM coders you guys picked up a few years ago that left that company. ?

Works good but this app looks like its running iOS 7 and I dont know about apple but I like running most recent software. I cant believe Spotify is better at controlling a mac. Apple needs to step up their game and do the same. We should be able to control iTunes on mac through iPhone apple music.

This app does not allow me to manually select a song it will only let me hit the skip button to change the song

The proper commands rarely work right and the remote freezes, then catches up.

When I open iTunes 12.6, there is no button in the iTunes window that allows me to connect my phone (the remote) to iTunes and type the four digit code. I tried connecting with home-share and that didnt work either!

Keep your previous version (or reinstall from your backup). This update doesn’t want you to choose tracks as you wish.

This app is indeed helpful in many instances when listening to music from your library on your local computer. However, its the behind the times as there is no way to interact with Apple Music and discover new music via search, radio stations youve created or any of the curated playlists. Very sad.

My Apple Watch and iPhone connect to my Mac fast. Love this app!

Doesnt work when using Personal Hotspot

Cant scrub thru songs because it crashes the app. Cant move the volume slider again if you slide it all the way to 0%.

As others have pointed out the ability to select and play a song when another is playing is no longer possible. This is a major backwards step in usability and usefulness and cannot be by design. (If so then a new product manager is needed.) Ive been waiting for a fix for months, keeping my eye on the list of apps in the upgrade list, every time hoping todays the day. When will I see it?

Just like the Apple remote nothing but issues with this app. I could understand it if I were not using an apple phone! Not cool

After every single use, I have to close the app out bc if I dont it wont let me use it. It flashes on and off on my phone. Never fails. Very annoying.

Ten times better than using the standard Apple remote with Apple TV. The two biggest issues I have with this app are occasional dropouts in connectivity (could be my cheap wifi router), and phone calls. Dropouts I can usually fix by restarting the app, turning my phone wifi off and on, and power cycling my wifi router if all else fails. ***This should hopefully be an easy fix, though Im not an app developer. My biggest issue with this app other than dropouts is that theres no feature to automatically pause content when a phone call comes in. If Im watching Netflix on my Apple TV and a call comes in, I need to tell them to wait, hit the home button, open remote and then pause. Just a minor inconvenience, but I would give the app five stars if they could fix this. Bonus points if you could turn that feature on and off in the settings menu!
