This app is so useless, that I feel weird reviewing it. When attempting to log into my AppleTV, this app only allows 4 digit verification, where 6 are required. Refuses to stay connected. Simply annoying in every respect. Goodbye Apple Remote. With such great hardware, cant understand why this app was such an failure.

Its telling me to turn on home sharing, which is already on. It worked fine before the update, ow nothing. This is a piece of crap app.

So happy this app NEVER works... its basically useless- home sharing is on and Im on wifi, app never works

After more than a year, still no Apple Music Radio support.

Constantly loses connection with Home Sharing. If I have to repeatedly go over to my laptop across the room to turn Home Sharing on and off to re-establish the connection, the app is USELESS.

Still no Apple Music support? Pathetic. I use a Mac Mini as a media hub and control from my iPhone for multi-zone audio and its just sad that I still cant access Apple Music via the remote app.

Extremely limited in features. So much room for improvement. Terrible app. Allow third party developers to do better please.

Just set up a new 4th gen Apple TV. Now the remote doesnt work and it wont pair and the instructions stink.

I deleted my old review which was mediocre at best. The app simply doesnt work at all anymore. It will find my Apple TV but once I tap to connect to it the icon greys out and......nothing! Sad to pay so much for a great device like Apple TV and be stuck with the old clip remote that came with it but to have an app that solves the pain of clicking through countless passwords only to have it not work at all for so long is a joke! Id give it ZERO stars if I could!

1. Volume control 2. Home button (for the ability to sleep)

Works at times with Apple TV 3rd Gen. Needs to be fixed immediately since nobody wants to deal with the tiny Apple remote!

And wouldnt connect with my Apple TV to make matters worse than yesterday, I cant repair the remote control without having the actual one that came with it and for no apparent reason broke???! So now Im totally screwed for getting to use my Apple TV

So this being an Apple app go figure that it would work flawless right? Well Nope! Sometimes it does work perfect, other times without reason, it behaves like a PC with a 286 processor ( remember those?) Trouble shooting this requires you to reboot any device, with latest updates (or actually dont update because dont fix it if it works) and then resetting the remote pairing ( I have three) hope it works click your heels and say "theres no place like Apple!". Yea not so fortunate as problems persist. I got ride of several PCs for this reason and now Apple seems to be just as guilty to launch something that is sketchy at best, gee reminds me of our Government. Hope this works for others better than me. I will keep trying and hoping it works.

Please fix this app asap *Update: Doesnt work after the iPhone and Apple TV 4th gen software updates. Not a full fledged Apple remote. Crashes frequently and it shows my Apple TV 4th gen as 2 in the device list. Didnt expect Apple to give a lame app. Need full fledged Apple TV remote.

I purchased a new apple TV. I went through the steps to set it up. It does not work. It works with the old (thinner) apple TV, not the new one. I have updated, set up home sharing, etc.

This app was amazing till a couple of months ago, then it suddenly stopped working and now does not even connect to (or show the device symbol) Apple TV. Hope there is a fix on the way soon.

I like the app. I use it as much as I can to avoid draining my ATV remote battery. I wish I didnt have to wait for the app to reconnect every time my phone goes to sleep. It would be great if I could access the remote from the lock screen.

Once I turned it off it works but I shouldnt have to give up my security just to remote control my pc

I recently installed this so that I could control my Apple TV which I recently got and when setting up the Remote app with the Apple TV it asked me to turn on home sharing on my app, and when I do so and type my username and password it says "home sharing is not available" and then proceeds to say "an apple device is trying to log into your account" and I press allow knowing that its probably just an installation bug and it then gives me a passcode that I cant type into my device due to it displaying on the exact same device Im trying to use. Please fix this Apple, this has app has been giving the lot of us issues and I think now would be the time to listen to us and meet our demands for better a better media remote software. If you have read all of these reviews on your app, then thank you for taking your time to hear us out.

Randomly stops working, cant fast forward/rewind on several apps.
